1 Introduction
1.1 The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has established SWIM service aimed to facilitate better information sharing in ATM and Aeronautical Information domains and provides a common situational awareness to key stakeholders. In essence, SWIM facilitates the provision of quality information to the right people at the right time.
1.2 This circular is published to provide an overview of the service and guide both the intended data users and the technical support team on the procedures for accessing the service.
2 Scope and description of the service
2.1 SWIM technical infrastructure of QCAA consists of an ATM-grade digital platform fully compliant with ICAO and Eurocontrol SWIM standards, designed to support SWIM, enabling interoperability on global, regional and organizational levels through standardized interfaces and agreed data formats.
2.2 The provision of SWIM service is being implemented in two (2) phases.
2.3 Phase 1 has been implemented and is currently in progress, providing the service on trial basis for up to six (6) months. During this period, data users can test, review and provide constructive feedback to QCAA, while QCAA evaluates the feedback for potential amendment/refinement to the service, as applicable.
2.4 Phase 2 is to provide the service operationally and it will be announced via an update of this AIC.
2.5 QCAA SWIM service provides data exchange via interfaces that are fully compliant with SWIM Technical Infrastructure (TI) yellow profile as defined by ICAO and EUROCONTROL.
2.6 The available interfaces are HTTPS and AMQP v1.0.
2.7 The service includes the following sub-services:
2.7.1 SWIM service registry
2.7.1.1 A technology-agnostic and SWIM compliant run-time and design-time registry of QCAA SWIM service, aimed to enhance the visibility and accessibility of the service.
2.7.1.2 Access via browser is possible.
2.7.2 ICAO AIXM 5.1 data set download service
2.7.2.1 Data sets can be downloaded via HTTPS using any internet browser or script.
2.7.2.2 Detailed information like access details can be retrieved from the service registry.
2.7.2.3 For downloading the data sets via browser, the user can use any internet browser to login. After login, the user will be redirected to the data set overview web page, where the user can select and download the desired files (refer to AIC - PROVISION OF DIGITAL DATA SETS).
2.7.3 Digital NOTAM service
2.7.3.1 State of Qatar Digital NOTAM messages are provided by a SWIM compliant AMQP 1.0 message broker in AIXM 5.1 format according to the EUROCONTROL digital NOTAM event specification.
