DECLARING MEDICAL EMERGENCIES IN FLIGHT

1 MEDICAL EMERGENCY CASES

1.1 In the event of a medical emergency in flight, the following phrases shall be declared to ATC.
  1. “MAYDAY” shall only be declared if one of the operating flight deck crew members is unable to perform the assigned duties.
  2. In all other cases (cabin crew or passenger), “MEDICAL CASE” shall be declared whenever medical assistance on arrival is needed. In addition, priority should be requested if required.

2 VALIDITY

2.1 Valid until 14 May 2025.
